Our History

from freeflight to vermilion

N147LK was formerly part of the FreeFlight Aviation fleet.

Towards the end of 2012, the owners of the aircraft decided they would prefer a different approach to the FreeFlight model and exercised their right to extract LK in May 2013.

Since 2013, Vermilion's primary purpose was to offer pilots the opportunity to fly this great aircraft at reasonable cost. Along the way we enabled several of our members to gain additional ratings and build hours to step up to turbine powered aircraft.

What we do

Vermilion Aviation was established to allow pilots the opportunity to fly a technically advanced, high performance, Cirrus SR22.

Owning your own aircraft is an expensive proposition. Renting is fine for a few hours but can be costly and impose restrictions when you want to fly more and far away. Vermilion offers an alternative.

Through equity and non-equity based membership, Vermilion offers sharing of costs with competitive rates in a well managed, maintained and equipped aircraft with excellent availability and few restrictions.

The aircraft is based at Blackbushe airport just off the A30 and very close to the M3.
